This weekend I went to Iowa to see two of my best friends! But that meant I kind of put the no-waste challenge on hold for a couple days. I was very much at the mercy of my friends for you know, food and such. We ate out for every meal and with that comes paper plates, plastic straws, and Styrofoam to-go containers. I cringed a little every time I threw something away, like I was cheating. I brought a few no-waste things with me on the trip. I used my air popper to pop some popcorn for a snack on the long car ride, brought a mason jar of lemonade, carried my small glass water bottle around with me, and used my handkerchief for my nose. All these things seemed totally natural for me at this point. So I'd call that a win. And when asked by my friend, "do you always just casually have a mason jar on you?" I was able to explain to her that for this month yes, yes I do always casually have a mason jar with me at all times. You never know when you might need it.
